Mélanie Freymond
Mélanie’s passion for the stage emerged early—at just eight years old, she began theater classes with Diggelmann in Lausanne, participated in improvisation matches, and performed annually with Théâtre de la Paternelle. She later pursued a Master’s degree in the sociology of communication at the University of Fribourg while launching her media career in 2000 as a presenter for RTS's children’s program Les Zap.
Her television career expanded to hosting popular entertainment and game shows such as Miss et Mister Suisse, Un Air de Famille, Le Kids Voice Tour, Alors on danse, Slam, Zéro Défaut, and Le Meilleur pour la fin. From 2004 to 2016, she also worked as a journalist and radio presenter across several major stations in French-speaking Switzerland, including One FM, Rouge FM, LFM, and Radio Lac.
Fluent in French, English, German, and Italian, Melanie regularly collaborates with SRF, notably for Les Swiss Awards 2015, Kampf der Orchester, Mini Beiz, Dini Beiz, and French-language commentary for shows like La Suisse a un incroyable talent, The Voice, and Les Swiss Music Awards. She is also a sought-after host for high-profile corporate and charitable events, including for BMW, Audi, Swisscom, TEDx, the Swiss Economic Forum, WWF International, and the Red Cross Ball.
After years away from performing, she returned to the theater in 2018 with Croix-Rouge and Les Dalton, followed by Hystéries in 2021, which toured French-speaking Switzerland and the Festival d’Avignon in 2022. In 2023, she presented the Swiss Film Awards in Zurich and, in 2024, gave her first TEDx Talk on non-verbal communication. Today, she also coaches CEOs and public figures in mastering public speaking.
In May 2025, Melanie will host the Eurovision public viewing at Basel's St. Jakob Stadium, while Hystéries is set to debut in Paris at Théâtre des Mathurins every Monday in June. From July onward, she will present the Das Zelt: Young Artists tour across French-speaking Switzerland. Alongside these projects, she continues to present Agriculture Durable and Votre Argent on La Télé, as well as the annual Swiss Voice Tour, a role she’s held for eight consecutive years. She is also the new ambassador for the jewelry brand Marli New York and the automotive brand Leapmotor.
