Dr Semira Gonseth
Dr. Semira Gonseth Nusslé is a Swiss medical doctor and specialist in preventive medicine with a deep-rooted expertise in epigenetic epidemiology. After earning her medical degree from the University of Lausanne in 2006 and completing her specialization in public health in 2018, she spent several years conducting postdoctoral research in molecular epidemiology at the University of California, San Francisco, and UC Berkeley. Her work focused on understanding the biological mechanisms underlying chronic diseases and the impact of environmental exposures.
Semira is the co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of Genknowme, a CHUV/UNIL spin-off at the forefront of epigenetic innovation. The company develops and commercializes pioneering epigenetic tests that assess how lifestyle factors influence biological aging and health. Genknowme’s latest breakthrough—a test that quantifies chronic stress through DNA methylation markers—has opened new avenues for proactive and personalized healthcare.
With her dual experience in clinical practice and biomedical research, Dr. Gonseth Nusslé has dedicated her career to translating cutting-edge science into tools for preventive medicine. Through Genknowme, she is building bridges between academic research, healthcare professionals, and industry partners, with the aim of making preventive health measurable, actionable, and widely accessible.
In parallel with her entrepreneurial role, she remains actively engaged in clinical and academic settings, serving as an associate physician at Unisanté and contributing to public health initiatives.
Semira is currently seeking strategic collaborations with analytical laboratories and healthcare providers to expand the reach of Genknowme’s epigenetic testing solutions, promoting a future where healthspan and longevity are scientifically guided and individually optimized.
